Over the past few months we have carried out various projects focused on optimising shelf life, as well as recipes and processes in terms of cost price and production yield. R&D projects thus embody investments with a high and long-term return.
We have adapted recipes for an SME to provide optimum protection against the growth of Listeria monocytogenes, while achieving substantial savings in raw material costs at the same time by optimising the recipes in terms of cost price.
We have developed a modified recipe for another company to provide increased protection against Listeria monocytogenes growth, increasing the yield by 5% through optimisation of the production process.
These entrepreneurs have since more than earned back their investment in a smartfood R&D project through substantial savings in production costs.
